Calm down. Seriously, its like reading the Daily Mail round here sometimes.

Blues are not self destructing. They had one poor result and a poor performance to match. Thats football. You win some, you lose some.

Next week if we win or draw I bet nobody will even mention the Boro game.

but the point is its not just one game is it? the lack of spirit, the clueless tactics and the dreadful atmosphee have been here for years now. Even last season when we were promoted people still felt that things were wrong.

But this is Birmingham City FC mate, what more do you expect :P ?
When we win a game, we are going to achieve the goal of survival and do anything else better than that.
But when we lose we are going to be relegated and the whole backroom staff should be sacked.

Some of the fans are complaining about the Boro game. OK, but were u complaining about the Chelsea game? 2 extremes in terms of performance i know, and remember, this is still a new team! When the team settles down we will see exactly how good our team is.

But i know one thing, it wont help the players, that whenever they do anything wrong they have fans on their back.

Many people have given their Bruce out view. But please lets try something, instead of saying after a game "he made a mistake. BRUCE OUT". Everyone makes mistakes. Once SB picks the team, it is up to the 11 players on the pitch to do the job. So if they were to make a simple mistake then it isnt SB's fault is it?
So next time, try and find the positives. please. because if fans are negative the whole time, then this club will die.

Someone tell me please, what help will complaining 24/7 about your club give?

Mini rant over

Whos to blame for the bad atmosphere? Does SB go out of his way to tell all the fans to moan and complain and generally feel downtrodden throughout the games?

We've just come up from the CCC. We're bound to get walked over every so often. And that lack of spirit wasn't mentioned against Chelsea or Derby. Just so happens that we lose away against a Middlesbrough side who look like they're on the up and suddenly we're a !"£$ team again?

Football fans really are the most fickle of any sport.

:Blues: The trouble is that footy has become like a fast food outlet, everythying has to be instant, the only differnece is you cant change your team because it is not an instant success.

Gone are the days of watching the team grow into something to cheer about.

We need to give the club a chance in this new world of premier ship to get their act together and for us to support that not slag off everything that goes wrong.

The trouble with this argument is that we were hearing this 2 and 3 seasons ago, and nothing has changed.

We keep hearing about the club learning their lessons, which will not be repeated, but a lot of fans see that nothing has changed and that we are heading in the same direction.

As for the team, yes SB does select the team but its wrong to just say that its upto the players once they are on the field. Surely they play to tactics and surely its the management team who instruct the players of the tactics they wish to see. If you are saying that they arent playing to SB's tactics then that also brings up loads of other questions

sorry but i agree, it's more than just one bad result.

our ability to out-football the opposition is non-existent but worse than that the abilty we used to have of grindng out results has also desserted us! a combination of poor team selection, poor tactics and poor management (inc the board) has led to where we are today!

this is like the season we went down, everyone can see we're going to really struggle except those at the top! or perhaps they can see it but are not willing to put their money where their mouths are and do something about it.

The team is better, the ground is better, the only thing that has got worse imho when comparing now and a 4-5 years ago, is the level f support has dropped dramatically, and the level of moaning against the likes of Sullivan has increased dramatically.

What i was saying with the players on the pitch was that sometimes even if players play to plans and formations, they can make silly mistakes which lead to you conceding a goal, and i feel that this was the case for both of Boro's goals.

I was just trying in that instant to make the point that players will make mistakes and when they do, SB cant be blamed for that **thumbup

I am not comparing with 4-5 years ago even though I cant really say I have noticed much difference in the ground, and also 4-5 years ago we had a team who battled, tackled and played as though their lives depended on it, and I see none of that at the moment.

2 and 3 seasons ago, we were hearing the same things ie its a new team, when they gel we will be ok, dont forget we are newcomers to this level etc etc, and the same things are being said and unfortunately believed be people

As for players, of course they cant be blamed for silly mistakes. However if they keep on making them that is another story all together. However, it wasnt just about silly mistakes it was the overall play on Saturday that people are complaining about and the way we approached the game

what about if players are making mistakes because they are either playing out of formation or out of position - who's to blame then?

as for your comments about Sullivan - he brings them on himself. he has a platform to havea go at supporters and unfortunately, other than here, we do not have one back. that tosh about writing to him. most of the letters were screened and not responded to by him whilst others went ignored. the sooner he's gone and someone can fulfill his promises the better.

we don't expect to be world-beaters but should be able to compete at this level like teams such as Wigan and Reading!

Like the Premier League and not in the relegation zone after 5 games into the season?

Sorry, but we are not going to dominate games in the Premier League like we did in the Championship. We can batter teams in the CCC and outplay them, but in the Premier League, teams will outclass us.

Of course, we need to improve. But doesnt every team? When have Chelsea or Man Utd stuck with what they have? Every team has room for improvement.

The way I look at it, we've had 1 (and a half if you include the Hereford match, even though the team was made up of a lot of second string players) games where we've put in poor performances. West Ham were on top of us but it still took a penalty for them to score.

We'll be fine. We'll put in a few more performances like the Chelsea game and come out with 3 points, and we'll put in some more performances like the Boro game and come out with 0 points and a well and truly battered self confidence.

I've no doubt Bruce will soon come out with his fabled "back to basics" speech and the attacking football we've supposedly been trying to play will be dropped in order to play some route 1 football to get some points on the table. At the end of the day, I see this season as all about the ends and not the means. If we can avoid relegation then we have a platform to build on, and then we can concentrate on the "means"

We didnt batter teams in the CCC, do you not remember Barnsley, Southend, games like that?

We were poor last year, we are poor this year, and the tactics and constant position swapping isnt helping this at all.

I know exactly what will happen, we will beat bolton 1-0 or 2-1, and all these pro-Bruce campaigners will come out and slag the Bruce doubters off.

We were poor for a very small portion of last season. We still finished 2nd from top, only 4 or 5 teams scored more goals in the league, 2nd highest amount of wins, didnt we go 9 games unbeaten (possibly more?) last season? Unless theres some sort of divine intervention this season, I can't see us reaching those highs again this season.

Its true we did play a lot of long ball football, and occasionally it was very hard to enjoy the game that was being put on for us, but I wouldnt say we were poor.

I'm not pro or anti Bruce by the way, nor am I slagging anyone off for being so.

i don't think anyone thinks we can dominate games or asking that we do, but if you look at when we were last in this division we ground out results, this lot couldn't grind coffee right now. remember Arsenal away, until the sending off we had them on the racks, remember the Vile games - we just had more fight.

the players are not playing for pride and passion imo. they do not have the mentality for this division some of them so there is no fight. most of them have lost before we've even taken to the pitch!

you say we'll be fine but i recall reading posts like yours when we just lost a miserable game to Everton the season we were relegated. loads on here said we'd be alright and some of us said no, we cannot simply guarantee to win games. the end result we all know. this time round we do not have the same expereince as then and we still aren't gelling together as a unit.

it's time to stop the excuses and the bright outlooks and look at the basics, we're a poor team and unless the current manager can turn it around sharply we will be in for a long long season. people said Reading will struggle, no sign of it. Wigan are doing ok. Bolton have Anelka to help them out of trouble. we don't have that. so far i think the bookies have it right with us and Derby going down.

Hey I share your frustration, alright. I just despair at how most of our fans seem to be like sheep.

"Bad result, worst performance ever, blues are destined to be relegated, the manager is useless, the world is going to implode blaahhh blaahhh blaahhh"

Constructive criticism is enjoyable to read. Its a shame that for every honest, constructive opinion you have 9 people going "yeah birmingham are rubbish the manager is useless".

You don't have to stick your head in the sand and live in ignorance, ignoring the bad points, only talking about the good. But this constant pessimism of Blues and talking down the board and manager is astonishing.

92 teams in all 4 major leagues. Do you see us as, at the moment, 16th best, or 76th worst?

How anyone can think peoples reactions are due to one bad result is beyond me.

Seriously, quite a few supporters have seen enough over the last 3 seasons to make fair comments about where we are in terms of footballing style, lack of progress made and the club appears to be imploding.

It's not about one game! :banghead:

I look at all the signings we've made, and there doesn't appear to be one single quality Premiership player amongst them.

"Bad result, worst performance ever"

I agree constructive criticism is best, and sometimes required, especially from the management. Comments like Bruce made after Boro instil no confidence or improves anything, they make matters worse.

I have lost count of the times Bruce has come out and said that was the worst performance ever and I don’t understand it. Very constructive. If you don’t understand why we play so badly so often what are you doing still in your job?

The CCC is not a division to play football out of. You can't play football against half of that lot, most games are a scrap and even the teams who want to play football are pulled into a game of gang warfare.
Like someone else has already mentioned, most goals, most wins etc.. it's difficult to know what more people wanted from last season. I'd be the first to agree that I was trying not to fall asleep during some games last season and sure I'd have loved some 5-0 thrappings but I'd take a 1-0 anytime if it means a promotion place.

This team, completely rebuilt, pretty much from scratch by Bruce in a little over 12 months is a vastly improved and hungrier team than the pile over over-rated, over-paid ageing rubbish that got us relegated. If nobody agrees with that then they should be going to the opticians.

The main question is are they technically good enough to compete and stay up? I think yes, a lot of others obviously think no, all I would say is that I think 5 games is surely a little early judge isn't it !!

The unwritten rule for the teams that get promoted to the Prem are quite simple........ SURVIVAL !!
Nothing more, nothing less, then you get your tv money etc, buy a few players, hope for a cup run and gradually establish yourself in the division.

Why do a lot of Blues think that we're any different ???

(I also don't help that on the weekend we play absolutely bottom, the vile beat chelsea 2-0!)

I am sick to death of all this "Bruce out" and "this player is cr@p and that player is cr@p. Why can't all these fans that go on about these topics just put all their efforts into SUPPORTING the team and the manager rather than slagging them off all the time. Perhaps then we might start getting the fans back to st andrews cus at the moment the armchair supporters are hearing or reading nothing but criticism for the team and the manager. And maybe the results will improve cus the team will feel that the fans are behind them rather that getting on their backs all the time. :Blues:
